CHARACTER CHANGE

For the film, we had to make some adjustments. The role of Lucas in this film has been substituted for production purposes. Multiple reasons play into the role and the overall fit for the role of Lucas. Lucas' role is based around being Bonnies boyfriend.

Reasons we recasted:

  • Chemistry
  • Physical appearance
  • Acting skills
  • Availability

    New Actor : Matthew Stolz
The original actor of Lucas -Noah Burchard-, could have got the job done. However, I felt as the director that changes needed to be made. When Noah had acted for me last year he did fine as his role was minor. Within this film his role is more major. Him and my actor Briana didn't fit well together chemistry wise as well. The acting felt off. Due to this, I subbed Matthew Stolz in. Matthew and Briana are more natural, this is a better look for my film.

Another point being the role of Lucas as a whole. The physical appearance side, Noah was blonde with curly hair and blue eyes. Matthew on the other hand has overall darker features, including brown hair and brown eyes. When Briana and Matthew are together they fit more in the role of Bonnie and Lucas. They compliment each other way better. As Matthew fits the role of Lucas better than Noah does. For these main reasons, the character has switched to the actor Matthew Stolz.

Typical horror conventions include a dark, unsettling atmosphere, isolation, mystery, ominous sounds, etc. To get inspiration, there's a few movie posters to view. "The Conjuring 2" poster immediately shows themovie is horror. It has dark imagery/atmosphere, isolation, black and white colors, the mystery of the large hand and lots of suspense just by the look. Seeing this, allows me to understand what I will need to include in my final project. I will be majority filming after dark to get the darker atmosphere. Followed by the main character being isolated and uneasy music to create suspense. Thrillers are similar; however, they add that engagement with the audience. Those feelings of excite...
